DEAD/ASLEEP PROJECT
In this project, I ask what if we could fake death or sleep as a strategy for survival or escape from a stressful situation, in the way possums and reptiles do.

From my original drawings I have chosen several to make instruction cards, asking strangers to perform my drawings in public places. They are then instructed to submit photo documentation of their performances back to me, with an explanation of why they chose that particular location or situation to fake death or sleep. (An example of a stressful situation could be, too many choices at the grocery store)

DEAD/ASLEEP COLLABORATIVE PROJECT: An investigation into the practice of fake dying and sleeping in public spaces.

1. Find a public location or re-create a stressful situation to conduct performance.

2. Mimick one of the "Dead/Asleep" drawings at this location

3. Document your participation in this project (drawings are okay)--explaining why you chose the location and/or situation.
